Meg Ryan, born Margaret Mary Emily Anne Hyra on November 19, 1961, in Fairfield, Connecticut, is a beloved American actress and director known for her endearing performances in numerous romantic comedies in the 1990s. Ryan’s career began on television with roles on popular soap operas such as “As the World Turns” and then broke into film with “Rich and Famous” (1981).

His breakthrough came with the romantic comedy “When Harry Met Sally…” (1989); Sally Albright’s portrayal here opposite Billy Crystal has become an iconic moment in cinema history, particularly in the famous restaurant scene. This movie made her America’s sweetheart.
