Incident Details

Two people were killed and eighteen injured in an early Sunday morning shooting on a Tampa street during Halloween celebrations, according to authorities, turning a brawl between two groups into a tragic incident in Florida.

According to Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw, at a news conference at the site, officers responded to the shooting in Tampa shortly before three in the morning in the 1600 block of East 7th Avenue in the Ybor City district.

According to Bercaw, there were a lot of late-night partygoers in the vicinity when the fight broke out, and the neighborhood has a number of pubs and clubs. Before the shooting, the police did not know for sure whether any of the individuals fighting had been inside any of the pubs.
