Who is Jumana Manna

Jumana Manna is a filmmaker and visual artist. Her work investigates the articulation of power, concentrating on the body, land, and materiality in connection to histories of location and colonial inheritances. Manna addresses the contradictions in preservation techniques via sculpture, video, and sometimes text, especially in the areas of archaeology, agriculture, and law. Her work takes into account the conflict between the wild potential of ruination as a necessary component of life and its rebirth and the modernist traditions of classification and conservation. Jumana resides in Berlin but was raised in Jerusalem.
