Who is Derek Rosa? Murdered his mom, Charged, Arrest, Age, Family

According to horrifying accounts, a 13-year-old Florida boy contacted a 911 operator and admitted to killing his mother as she was sleeping close to his newborn sister. He also emailed pictures of the horrific incident to his pals.

A grand jury indicted Derek Rosa in connection with his mother’s death, and the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office said that the boy is now charged with first-degree murder, WSVN reported.

Despite not showing up for his initial court appearance on Friday, he will face an adult trial, according to accounts.

According to the phone recording that was made public earlier this week, Rosa called 911 on October 12 to report that he had just killed his mother at their Hialeah home.

Rosa supposedly informed the dispatcher that he had taken pictures of his 39-year-old mother, Irene Garcia, and shared them with his pals.

He informed the dispatcher, “I took pictures and I told my friends about it.” “Is that awful?”

Miss, she’s dead? During the eighteen-minute conversation, which allegedly ended when police showed up at his house, he is also believed to have remarked. “The floor is covered in blood.”

Rosa is reportedly said to have stated, “I’m carrying the gun right now.” I didn’t want to shoot myself, but I was going to. I was unwilling to. A rifle is in the living room and a knife is in my room.

On Friday, Rosa’s paternal grandmother and father made an appearance in juvenile court on his behalf.

At the court, Jose Rosa, the boy’s father, said, “It’s very unfortunate that this tragedy occurred, but this child is very humble, very peaceful, and no one could imagine that this would ever happen,” according to Local 10 News.

Rosa has been sent to the Metro West Detention Center and ordered to be kept without bail.

According to the site, he is being kept at the Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation facility right now.
